Standard off-the-shelf room thermostat

• Has quite manual controls, the readings that it gives aren't very accurate.

Digital line

• Will give you a digital display of the temperature and will allow you to adjust it so you can see exactly what temperature you are setting it to.

Smart controls

• Allows you to control your heating from your smartphone, so that you can set the temperature from any location.

Wired or wireless?

A wired thermostat would have to be hard wired, whereas a wireless one gives you great flexibility of where you can site it. It would also give you a lot neater of an installation. A wired thermostat might be good for a replacement of an existing thermostat that you already have wired in place.
