Our Diversity and Equality Commitment as an Employer

Swale Heating Limited is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company policy is that no job applicant, employee or contractor (collectively our people) will receive less favourable treatment on the following grounds; colour, race, nationality or national or ethnic origin, gender reassignment, pregnancy, religion, belief, age, employment status or membership or non-membership of a Trade Union. No one will be disadvantaged by any other condition or requirement that is not essential for carrying out the job. The effectiveness of the Company will only be improved by developing the skills and abilities of all our people, and this policy, above all else, aims to achieve this objective.

Entry into the Company and progression therein, will be determined solely by the application of objective criteria, personal performance and merit. As a result, recruitment and other employment decisions and procedures will be monitored and reviewed and, where necessary, they will be changed to ensure that everyone is treated fairly.

Eliminating discrimination and providing equality of opportunity depends upon the personal commitment of all our people, who therefore have a personal and collective responsibility for the implementation and adherence to the Diversity and Equality policy. To ensure that line managers and other relevant decision makers understand the Company Policy and their position in law, appropriate training and guidance is available and is delivered on a regular basis. Direct and indirect discrimination, including harassment and victimisation, is not tolerated. Deliberate failure to observe the requirements of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action (including, where appropriate, summary dismissal) through the Company’s disciplinary procedure.
The Board and Management of Swale Heating Limited have the specific responsibility for applying this policy and they are jointly accountable for its implementation and adherence to it. Anyone who believes that they are being unfairly treated in any way associated with this policy is entitled to and should raise the matter through the grievance procedure.

This statement may be amended from time to time to reflect the changes in the law and best practice.
