What is a boiler warranty?

A boiler warranty covers you if something goes wrong with your appliance. Boiler warranties are essential as if you have a fault with your boiler, the manufacturer will repair this free of charge whilst the boiler is under warranty.

By law, your boiler your boiler must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, otherwise this may cause your warranty to be void. All the boilers installed by Swale Heating come with a warranty that range from 1 to 10 years, depending on the manufacturer and the model you have purchased, and most warranties can often be extended for a cost.

In order to access the warranty, you will most probably have to register your appliance with the manufacturer once it’s first installed, if your boiler is installed by Swale Heating, we will do this on your behalf ensuring your boiler is under warranty from the date of installation. This way, if a claim ever needs to be made, we will know when and where the boiler installation took place, which is helpful to know when undergoing any repairs.

Why is a boiler warranty important?

As a consumer, it’s important to be safe in the knowledge that you have boiler warranty in place if anything goes wrong. This gives you peace of mind that, if anything does break down, an expert Gas Safe engineer can come to fix this within a reasonable timeframe, without a hefty fee.

Is a boiler guarantee different to a boiler warranty?

The simple answer is yes. The main difference is that a guarantee is free and serves as a promise made by the manufacturer that, if the appliance cannot be fixed or replaced, then you will receive a refund.

However, a warranty is seen as an assurance that all appliance specifications are true and genuine, but a refund isn’t included if a repair or replacement doesn’t fix the issue.

What’s more, whilst a boiler warranty only covers the product, a guarantee covers the product and services undertaken.

Simply put, guarantees strengthen your rights as a consumer as they state that the quality and performance of your appliance is of top quality and, if not, a refund will be given.

Is boiler cover different to a boiler warranty?

Yes, there are a few differences depending on the specific T&Cs of the cover and warranty you choose.
