Why we love clean energy

10 February 2023

Renewable energy is the way forward. With a commitment to becoming carbon neutral, the UK is investing in its future.

What’s more, renewable energy is becoming increasingly popular in our homes, with 42.8% of UK households using renewable energy sources*. With the government investing millions into green energy, renewable systems are not just for the rich anymore.

Renewable energy is generated from infinite, natural resources that is transferred into electricity, which is then used for energy.

Thanks to their environmental qualities and minimal carbon emissions, renewables are the way forward.

Here are 4 reasons why we love clean energy.

We love clean air

With fossil fuels, including coal, oil and gas, accounting for over 75% of greenhouse gases and nearly 90% of CO2 emissions**, it’s clear that something needs to change.

What’s more, it’s estimated that approximately 99%** of people worldwide breathe air that is dangerous to their health.

Not only this, but over 13 million** deaths occur due to environmental issues that are avoidable, such as air pollution. In London alone, around 9,400 deaths*** happen every year due to poor air quality.

By moving towards renewable energy, we can all benefit from clean, healthy air that will allow us all to live longer, healthier lives.

We love sustainable jobs

As renewable markets grow, so do job opportunities. What’s more, green jobs typically pay higher wages and have a lower risk of automation compared to non-green jobs*****.

With the expansion of low carbon energy usage, more jobs are available compared to the gas or coal industries******. The UK Energy Research Centre also finds that the renewables sector will create three times as many jobs for every £million invested******.

We love never-ending sources of energy

Another reason why we love renewable energy is that it will never run out. Every country has access to some form of renewable resource. However, around 80% of the world imports fossil fuels**.

By committing to renewable energy, countries will gain independence in energy resources. This will allow them to take control of their own economies and will protect them from any political issues that may arise relating to energy.

Lastly, countries can be safe in the knowledge that they’ll never run out of renewable resources as there will always be sun, wind and sea to generate energy.

There are loads of reasons to commit to renewable energy. Here, we have covered 3 to illustrate just how important it is to take the plunge to commit to renewable energy.
