A sports enthusiast with a passion for excellent customer service has joined Swale Heating as Private Service Manager.
Having left university with a degree in sports management, Mark Tranham never expected to get into the domestic gas industry but says “it’s the best decision I’ve ever made” – and he reckons his degree has given him the perfect skill set to help Swale Heating achieve its ambitious expansion goals.
“My management degree enables me to analyse processes and implement new strategies to improve efficiency and performance, while my experiences in the industry have enabled me to develop excellent customer service skills,” says the 29-year-old. “That will be a key focus in my new role at Swale Heating and improving service delivery will be a top priority.”
Mark, a qualified gas engineer with more than seven years’ experience, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Swale Heating’s private service department, which services and maintains boilers and heating systems for over 25,000 private customers.
He will also be responsible for Swale Heating’s home emergency department, which undertakes contract work for the AA and Mitie. Mark joins the company from British Gas, where he spent the last three years as a technical support engineer.
“My role at Swale Heating varies from managing both engineers and administration staff to developing advertising and marketing strategies to promote growth, as well as providing technical support for engineers and a number of admin teams,” says Mark.
“Swale Heating has an excellent reputation and the potential for further growth is evident. The company is clearly focused on growing and improving the private service side of the business. I was keen to move into management and further my career and this new role gives me an exciting opportunity to drive that expansion.”

When he is not working, Mark, who lives with his wife in Coulsdon, Surrey, is a keen footballer and golfer and also enjoys cooking.
